Privacy Policy — Clarion Transcribe

Last updated: 9 July 2026

Clarion Transcribe is designed to keep your recordings private. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your data.

The short version

Clarion Transcribe does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Your recordings and transcripts never leave your device except when you choose to share them yourself.

What stays on your device

We have no servers, no user accounts, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. We never see your recordings, transcripts, or how you use the app.

The one network connection

If you use the Whisper transcription engine, the first time you select a given model the app downloads that model file (from the model's public host, such as Hugging Face or Apple's content delivery network) so it can run on your device. This download transfers only the model file to your device, sends none of your audio, transcripts, or personal information, and happens once per model — after which transcription works fully offline. If you prefer no network activity at all, use the built-in Apple Speech engine, which requires no download.

Permissions the app requests

Sharing

When you tap Share on a recording or transcript, iOS hands the file to whatever destination you pick (Messages, Mail, Files, etc.). What happens to it after that is governed by that app or service, not by Clarion Transcribe.

Children's privacy

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
